Alana Engel

Special Education Teacher
RES 2-5

Introducing, Mrs. Engel!!

Welcome to Rawlins Elementary School!
It is with such excitement that I can say I have now been teaching 15 years!! 12 of those years have been spent right here in Carbon County School District 1, where I have taught Special Education at the elementary level.
I am an avid horsewoman within the county and love to garden, work with my mare and gelding, and work with my dogs. I have developed a recent new interest, crochet, and I am crocheting everything I can get ahold of. I have a real desire to teach crochet to kids. Research says it is good for their brains!!!
I do many different things for the district besides help students with disabilities. I also am the Hug Club coordinator for the 2nd/3rd grade, a district trainer for CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention), and member of the D-SIT team. At the state level, I sit on the Professional Judgment Panel as a Special Education teacher. I also am a member of the RTI team, PBIS team, Building Leadership team, and a member of the Crisis intervention team!
My schedule is really packed through the day. I do eat lunch at 11:05, usually. That is a great time to call me. You can also reach me before 8:00 am, and after 2:45 pm.
My classroom phone number is:
307-321-7900 ext 3224
