Title: Assistant Principal

Location: Rawlins Elementary School 2-5

Professionally, I have been an educator for over 20 years. I have had the privilege of teaching in three different states in various grade levels from kindergarten through eighth grade. I have been a coach, student club sponsor, and drama director throughout my career.I received my bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, my master's degree from Nebraska Wesleyan, and my Principal Certification from Lamar University. I am so excited for an opportunity to begin my educational leadership journey at Rawlins Elementary School. I look forward to working with school, families, and members of the community!

Personally, I am a proud father of five amazing kids, ages 6-21.  Two of my kids are currently in college and two of them are a part of the Rawlins Elementary family.  I am an avid golfer and love spending time with my family hiking, camping, and enjoying the outdoors.  I believe every day is a gift and it is important to appreciate the little things in life.

Hello, my name is Amy Bentsen.  I am currently an assistant principal and a member of the Professional Development Team at Rawlins Elementary School in Carbon County School District #1.

I was born and raised in Rawlins.  I attended the University of Wyoming and graduated in 2005 with my degree in Elementary Education.  I taught 1st grade for 8 years during which time I went back to school and got my Master degree in Curriculum and Instruction and an endorsement in administration. I was an Instructional Facilitator for 3 years and then took a position as an assistant principal at RES where I am currently.

I am a mother of 3 and love spending any extra time that we might have at our cabin.
